Description

Shepherd’s Pie is a comforting classic that combines rich meat filling and creamy mashed potatoes, perfect for cozy family dinners or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • Ground lamb or beef
  • Onion
  • Carrots
  • Peas
  • Garlic
  • Beef broth
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Potatoes
  • Butter
  • Milk or cream

Instructions

  1. Chop onion and carrots, and mince garlic.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain excess fat, then add onions, carrots, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  3. Stir in peas, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce; simmer until thickened (about 10 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Boil peeled potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15 minutes). Drain and mash with butter and milk until creamy.
  5. Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes. Use a fork to create swirls for browning.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
