Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
  • Food coloring (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk flour and baking powder. Gradually combine with the butter mixture to form a soft dough.
  3. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
