  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Food coloring gel (varied colors)
  • Frosting (buttercream, homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter with sugar until fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix gently until just combined.
  6. Divide batter into bowls and add food coloring gel to achieve desired colors.
  7. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting and decorating with sprinkles.
