- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, diced)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6–8 tbsp ice water
- 3 cups tart apples (peeled and diced)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water until the dough forms. Divide into two discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- While the dough chills, combine diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Roll out one disc into 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into squares or circles.
- Place a spoonful of filling on one half of each dough piece. Brush edges with water, fold over to seal.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake on parchment-lined sheets for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
