  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup ketchup (plus more for topping)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onions, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  5. Spread ketchup on top and bake for approximately 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
