Description

Indulge in these light, fluffy homemade doughnuts, glazed to perfection. A sweet treat ideal for breakfast or dessert that will make every occasion feel special.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by warming milk until lukewarm, sprinkle with yeast, and let sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Create a well; add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until elastic.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick; cut into circles and holes.
  6. Heat oil to 375°F (190°C) and fry doughnuts until golden brown on both sides (about 60 seconds each). Drain on paper towels.
  7. Mix powdered sugar with water/milk for glaze; dip warm doughnuts into the glaze.
