  • 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil or traditional)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cups tomato sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare noodles according to package instructions; drain and lay flat.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain excess grease and add tomato sauce to simmer.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with basil, oregano, salt, and pepper until combined.
  4. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella; repeat layers.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
  6. Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
