  • 1 lb fresh lump crab meat
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, gently mix together the crab meat, mayonnaise, Old Bay seasoning, panko breadcrumbs, egg, lemon juice, onion, and bell pepper until combined.
  2. Form the mixture into patties about 3 inches wide and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Chill the patties in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Cook the crab cakes in the hot oil for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Drain on paper towels briefly before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.
