  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and espresso powder.
  3. Add pumpkin puree, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
  4. Divide batter between the prepared pans; bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before removing.
  5. For frosting, beat heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  6. Once cakes are cooled completely, layer them with frosting in between and on top.
