Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (5 oz) can high-quality tuna, drained
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup celery, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp red onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, and diced red onion. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Spread the tuna salad mixture evenly between two slices of bread.
  3. Top one slice with shredded cheddar cheese and close the sandwich. Butter both outer sides of the bread generously.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Flip carefully to avoid spilling.
