  • 6 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tbsp water (for icing)
  • 8 popsicle sticks
  • Cooking spray (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples thoroughly. Remove wax by rubbing with a cloth.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar and 1/4 cup water over medium heat. Stir until golden brown and reaches 350°F (175°C).
  3. Reduce heat; add butter, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
  4. Insert popsicle sticks into apples and dip into caramel until fully coated. Drip excess off and place on parchment paper.
  5. In a small bowl, mix confectioners’ sugar with enough water to form a thick paste. Use a piping bag to drizzle over dipped apples in a web pattern.
  6. Allow to cool completely before serving.
